Mastering the Silver Bullet Strategy
Trading isn't just about price; it's about time. Discover the 60-minute window where institutional algorithms are forced to create liquidity and how you can capitalize on it.
What is the Silver Bullet?
The Silver Bullet is a time-based trading setup popularized by ICT (Inner Circle Trader). It identifies a specific one-hour window during the London, New York, and PM sessions where the market almost always reaches for a specific liquidity draw.
During this hour, institutional algorithms "reprice" the market toward a recent high, low, or Fair Value Gap. If you know the direction, the entry becomes mechanical.
The Silver Bullet Windows (EST)
- London Open3:00 AM - 4:00 AM
- New York Open10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
- PM Session2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
The Setup: Time + FVG
The strategy is remarkably simple. Inside the designated hour, you look for:
- Liquidity Sweep: Price takes out a recent swing high or low.
- Market Structure Shift (MSS): A break in structure in the opposite direction.
- Fair Value Gap (FVG): An imbalance formed during the shift.
Your entry is at the retest of the FVG, with a stop loss placed at the high/low of the candle that created the sweep.
Automating with Smart Signals Assistant™
Manually watching the clock and hunting for FVGs can lead to hesitation. TheAlgoAlpha Smart Signals Assistant™ can be configured to filter for Silver Bullet setups automatically.
By using our **Trend Strength** and **Market Structure** modules, the SSA will flag only the most high-probability FVGs that appear inside the institutional windows.
