The 1-Minute Crypto Scalping Framework
Scalping is the fastest way to grow a small account, but it's also the easiest way to lose it. Learn the professional 1m framework used by AlgoAlpha traders to stay profitable.
What is Crypto Scalping?
Scalping is a trading style that specializes in profiting from small price changes and making a quick profit from reselling. In the crypto market, where volatility is high even on the 1-minute timeframe, scalping offers dozens of opportunities per day.
The goal isn't to catch a "moon mission." The goal is to hit high-probability targets with precision and speed.
The Core Requirements
- High Volatility Assets (BTC, ETH, SOL)
- Low Spread / Low Fee Exchange
- Lightning-Fast Execution
- No-Lag Technical Indicators
Step 1: Setting Up Your Signals
On the 1-minute chart, manual analysis is often too slow. We recommend using theSmart Signals Assistant™ in "Scalping Mode." This mode prioritizes short-term momentum shifts and volume spikes over long-term trend following.
The Scalper Settings:
- Sensitivity: High (to catch rapid reversals)
- Volume Filter: On (to avoid low-liquidity fakeouts)
- Trend Override: Off (scalping is often counter-trend)
Step 2: Defining the Entry
A valid scalping setup occurs when three things align:
- Liquidity Sweep: Price takes out a recent high or low (the "fuel").
- Signal Confirmation: A "Buy" or "Sell" signal appears from the SSA.
- Positive Risk-Reward: Your potential profit is at least 1.5x your risk. (Use our Risk-Reward Calculator to check).
The Danger of Overtrading
The biggest killer of scalping accounts is commissions and overtrading. If you trade 50 times a day, your exchange might make more money than you do. Limit yourself to 3-5 high-probability setups per session.
Step 3: Execution and Exit
In scalping, you don't "hope" for a move. You exit at the first sign of reversal or when your Take Profit target is hit. We recommend using Trailing Stop Losses to lock in profits as price moves in your favor.
Using our Momentum Concepts™ indicator can help you see when a scalp is losing strength, giving you the exit signal before the retracement happens.
